All around me I saw people working hard, struggling, trying so hard to "get ahead." Yet, I never felt like I was working. I was simply doing what I loved to do and so long as my passion was mixed with a mental image of success, I got what I wanted. If, on the other hand, I simply worked hard but had no mental picture of abundance coming to me, then no abundance came forth.
At this point I realized that the truth I had discovered was no different than when I competed in wrestling and martial arts. I could train hard every single day - but if my training was NOT attached to a goal, in the form of a mental picture, a goal to become MORE than I was ... then improvements didn't come.
Yet, once I had a picture of a goal I wanted, everything changed, and rapidly.
This led me to the realization, the self-realization, that most of our troubles and struggles come about because we have weak mental pictures that cause us to literally RESIST OURSELVES. We get in our own way. We put up barriers and roadblocks to our success.
We say we want more money, a better lifestyle and so on - yet we either don't picture having it - OR we picture it the wrong way. And if we picture what we want the wrong way, we not only add resistance, we also cause the opposite of what we want to happen.

How to Create Powerful Mental Pictures that Attract Success and Obliterate Weak Mental Images that Attract Failure
Now, perhaps you think you've heard this "attitude" or "positive thinking" stuff before. I assure you that you haven't - at least not in the way I'm going to teach it to you. And the way I'm going to teach it to you is "idiot proof."
Here's how I know: This past May I held a 2-day seminar on Email Copywriting. The fee was $5000.00 per person and I promised to teach everyone who attended how to write fantastic email copy inside of 48 hours.
That was a HUGE PROMISE.
Most of the 60 people who attended had never written email copy before. Nor any other type of advertising copy. And most of the people in the room were "scared sheetless" that they wouldn't be able to learn how, espcecially within 48 hours.
Imagine that! You pay five thousand smackers to learn something that you still don't believe you can learn.
What are we talking about once again? It's called RESISTANCE.
I recognized well before the event took place that in order to fulfill my promise to the attendees that I would need to begin removing their RESISTANCE to success and their fears of failure BEFORE I taught them to write an email.
And so I arranged for an introductory evening before the 2-day seminar began. At this introductory first evening I would give a FREE seminar called Zero Resistance Writing.
Once the evening started I informed the group that what I was about to teach was THE MOST IMPORTANT SKILL OF ALL. I told them that in order to become a great copywriter you need to remove the self-imposed shackles. Then I proceeded to teach these men and women how to think in mental picture. I told them if they were willing to show me their mental pictures and allow me to tweak them, that nothing could or would prevent them from becoming great email copywriters.
Two people came up to me after this free introductory evening and complained about the "mind stuff." They told me, point blank, "I got absolutely nothing out of tonight's session."
I was thankful that this happened because the two just revealed that they were poison to the others in the group. I made an immediate decision to dismiss them from the seminar and give them a refund. Then I told the rest of the group what I did and explained, "If you think I'm up here doing this because I need your money, think again. I don't need your money. What I want though, is for you to become successful, to break through barriers, to stop resisting yourself and let ME GUIDE YOU."
One attendee came up to me at the next break and said, "Matthew, you should make a point of throwing at least one person out of every seminar. You've created a roomful of power houses. I've never seen focus like this before."
I nodded.
And when all was written, said and done, the remaining 58 people were ALL awesome at writing email copy. People looked at what I did as supernatural, miraculous - even magical. I merely looked at it as what you can expect when someone changes his or her mental pictures from resistance to the free-flowing spontaneous ALLOWING of success.
Why I Threw Away $10,000.00
Now, in case you missed the reason I threw the two people out - (and at five grand a pop that adds up to ten thousand smackers) let me spell it out to you so there is absolutely no misunderstanding.
I threw them out because the key to greatness in life is eliminating self-resistance. And if these people got NOTHING out of an evening seminar on acquiring a ZERO RESISTANCE mindset - a mindset that holds the KEY to unlocking the vault to a bright future, then these people were going to interfere with the growth of the others in the group. They were going to energetically pull the others down.
They were like having mold growing on a couple oranges in a crate. If the moldy oranges aren't removed, pretty soon the whole batch stinks.
So I owed it to the others in the group to remove the "rotten fruit." If I didn't I wouldn't have been successful in getting the whole room to come together as a team to achieve the goals we had.
What Interferes With Success?
Here's what I've proven to be "the truth" in my life and in the lives of the people I coach: The level of success you enjoy in life is in direct proportion to how much resistance you have to the very things you say you want.
Many people say they want more money; they say they want a better lifestyle - but when you present them with exactly what is going to help give them what they say they want - instead of opening up, instead of allowing what they want to come into their lives, they do something else.
What do they do?
They FIGHT you. They RESIST you. They REJECT what is brought forth. They SLAP the very hands that could feed them.
Why is this?
Well, some people chalk it up to "human nature."
But that's not the proper explanation. The proper explanation is this: You have a mental blueprint, a mental picture and movie in your brain, and even if you say you want something, if what is coming your way is NOT in harmony with the mental picture or blue print, you will REJECT it. You will RESIST it. You'll find fault, nitpick, bitch, moan and complain. ANYTHING but open your mind and your heart and allow the good stuff in.
And so, the stunning reality of the situation is that you cannot and will not make a lot of money, run a great business, improve your career or develop a high level of proficiency in anything if you are unwilling to discover what you mental blue print is and allow someone like ME to help you make it better.
So you know, this is not a problem-solving matter. This isn't an ordeal where you say to yourself, "That's my problem. I have a bad image of myself. I need to fix that."
Ungh-uh.
This isn't about fixing anything. This is about CREATING a great life for yourself.
This is about knowing how you're picturing things - then understanding that how you picture things influences and helps to create the reality you live in. IF what you've created to date isn't working for you - then let's drop that old image and create a new one ... and along with it a NEW REALITY.
That, my friend, is my role as your seminar leader. I'm not simply going to stand before you and give you a notebook full of answers on how to create a Zero Resistance Internet Business. I'm not just going to fill your mind with marketing strategies, selling skills and copywriting clichés.
No.
What I'm going to do, first and foremost, is show you the TRUTH about YOURSELF. You were born to CREATE a great life for yourself; to live your dreams. You were put on this earth with a powerful imagination - but chances are you stopped using it in the most powerful and empowering way humanly possible.
This has resulted in you feeling and being LESS than you know you're capable of being. And if you try to adjust and improve everything on the OUTSIDE before making a few mental tweaks and adjustments on the INSIDE - then I'm sorry but whatever you're working toward will either fail - or you'll create a very temporary success.
Maybe you'll have ONE GOOD HIT SONG. Or have one good month of sales. But you won't be able to create new hits, new wonders and higher levels of sales - repeatedly. Over and over again.
Why?
Because what you created on the OUTSIDE doesn't jibe with what is inside of you.
Simple as that.
I Had A Client Who ...
Two years ago I spoke with Paul, a private client who is incredibly talented. He's an artist, wood worker, painter and photographer. He has so many talents you'd think he was living nine lives simultaneously.
Yet, the most Paul had ever made in a single month was $10,000.00. No matter what he did on the OUTSIDE he could not break ten grand. Not only that, but he was only able to hit the 10K level one time in his whole life.
"I've made ten thousand in a month before," said Paul to me. "But I can't sustain it. It was like it just happened and I had no control and I can't get it back."
I said: "There's no such thing as 'it just happened.' The only reason you aren't hitting the ten thousand dollars per month mark repeatedly is simple. You cannot picture it."
"That's not true," said Paul. "I visualize all the time. I think positive. I say affirmations. I even write them."
"Then let me ask you a question," I said.
"Okay."
"Are you resisting the flow of money or are you letting it in?"
After a long pause, Paul said: "You're right. I'm resisting it. I guess it's because I think the key to earning more is hard, hard work and I'm not willing to work any harder than I am right now because I feel like I'm busting my ass day and night."
"What if the key to you making double your current income wasn't hard work," I said.
"I would like that," he said.
I spent another hour with Paul tweaking the mental picture he had of himself, then we parted ways.
A month later he called me to tell me the difference he had experienced. He had just had a $10,000.00 month. In fact, he blew right past ten grand and had a $20,000.00 month. The best part is that he hadn't worked a bit harder than what he did to earn so much less.
Now, I didn't teach Paul one thing about the Internet. I only gave him help forming a new mental picture - and the rest is history.
When It Comes to the Internet ...
Key thing to understand is this: I didn't teach Paul how to make money on the Internet, like I'm going to teach YOU. I only taught him how to change his mental picture to a more empowering one. Yet, that was enough to skyrocket his level of success.

The key to success is getting out of the "hard work" mentality. "Hard work" - although applauded and lauded by so many, is NOT the real key to success. If it were I'd be putting shingles on roofs in the hot, humid Florida sun.
Retirement is Suicide
Another bogus idea in peoples' heads is the notion of retirement. "Just 35 more years of pain and suffering," then I can retire.
Retire??? Why on earth would you retire?
There can be only ONE valid reason. You don't LOVE what you do. What you're doing is "hard work." Your life is filled with RESISTANCE.
Everyday is WAR. You go to work fighting yourself. Then you come home and fight with everyone else. Or you're so burned out you vegetate in front of the "idiot box."
Yet, if you were doing what you loved AND making a fortune doing so, why on earth would you retire? You don't retire when you're having a blast. You retire when you're miserable and cannot or don't want to take it anymore.
And you've got this asinine notion that you're going to travel the world after you retire.
HA!
If you want to travel the world - you begin NOW! Not when you retire. When you retire you're in poor health. Or you're a crotchety old-fart because you've been miserable for far too long. NOW you're going to travel??? I don't think so. What you're going to do is sit on your ass for about 18 months - then DIE.
That's what retirement does to you.
So snap out of it if you're entertaining this type of thinking. Instead of RETIRING into eternal sleep - why not RETIRE from what you're doing and GET INVOVLED in something you LOVE. Something that will make you a ton of money while being of service to as many people as possible.
That's why I love the Internet so much. It's a ZERO RESISTANCE WAY to run a business, if you do it the Furey WAY.
Right now I'm in Hainan Island in China. I'm slurping a drink while getting my feet massaged. I get my feet massaged so that I'm happier and healthier - and so that there's no resistance anywhere on my body - from the bottom UP.
I want my feet to feel pleasure when I get up each day and move through life with enthusiastic abandon.
And the secret of doing so is discovering how to marry your desires to the desires and wants of a whole lot of people. When you do this, and this IS something I'm going to teach you at my seminar - then your success is assured.
The Zero Resistance Writer Within
The third area of focus at my seminar, the thing that might astound you more than anything else, is how fast you can learn to become a truly great writer. When you listen to what I have to teach you about writing - not only how to do it but how it is, far, Far, FAR easier than what you've been told, you will be stunned.
I'm going to remove the blinders from your eyes, my friend. I'm going to pull the plugs from your ears and show you my truly powerful and unique ways for writing whatever I want to write very, very fast. In fact, if you follow what I teach, I believe you can reach a level in which 90% of what you write doesn't even need editing.
Why? Because you get it right the first time. You become a "one-take" writer.

One thing I know is that most people WANT to be able to communicate their thoughts in writing. Thing is, these same people have had bad writing teachers - usually English majors who never SOLD one word of anything they ever wrote to anyone - yet they THINK they KNOW what great writing is. If so, then why don't they write something great and sell it?
Answer: They don't know how. And so, even if they have the skills - the skills don't amount to much. And that's sad.
Great writing is writing that SELLS. Period. End of statement.
Never forget this.
Moby Dick was, at one time, a financial failure. In fact, we would have never known how great this book was if it remained a financial failure. It is GREAT because it SOLD.
And so, if you want to develop an ability to write what people want to read - and will pay to read - then you absolutely MUST attend my seminar. It would be a very bad decision to say no to ME - and to yourself.
In order to move up the ladder of SUCCESS it is a good idea to look to someone who is ahead of you and allow him to reach down, clasp your hand and help pull you upward with him. That's what I've always believed and practiced. That's why I've always sought the counsel of experts - those who are where I want to be.
This habit is not an odd one. It is the same habit embraced by all men and women who have become successful. They did something simple yet profound. They looked out into the world to see who was where they wanted to be. They looked at the results the successful people were enjoying and said to themselves, "Man, if this guy could do it - I can, too. What did he do to make it? If I do the same things he did I'm sure I'll get the same type of results."
The failures did NOT do what I just outlined. They looked at the successful person and condemned him. And when they condemned him they condemned themselves. They doomed and cursed themselves into an existence that cannot get better. They made a choice to stay broke, uninformed and perhaps, for want of a better word - stupid.
Yet, it is a fact that anyone can become successful if he or she will simply THINK the way successful people think - and DO what successful people do.
